Marriages may be surviving less, but the good ones are better
Although the U.S. has a 45 percent divorce rate, some experts say this doesn’t mean marriage is a doomed institution. In a recent op-ed for The New York Times, psychologist Eli Finkel of Northwestern University explains that those who are choosing to stay married are happier in those relationships. Finkel explains the factors that shape healthy marriages, and how workplace and federal policies could change the marriage landscape.
