Pianist, singer, and songwriter Mose Allison has influenced musicians from Jimi Hendrix to Elvis Costello, from the Rolling Stones to Tom Waits. For some it’s the music, for others it’s the lyrics, and for the rest it’s the delivery. Now, after 65 years on the road, the 86-year-old has hung it up. Steve Rashid has assembled a crack group of like-minded Mose freaks to pay tribute to the man at Evanston’s Whiskey Lounge. He brings the group to Morning Shift for a preview.
