New documentary examines the connection between the evangelical faith and immigration reform
Republican leaders in the U.S. House still refuse to take on immigration reform, despite a growing call for action from business leaders, farmers, other Republicans outside the beltway and religious leaders of all stripes. The latest salvo from evangelicals is a new documentary called, The Stranger. The film emphasizes what supporters of reform call the brokenness of the current immigration system, by showing how that system has harmed the lives of three immigrant families. We talk with the filmmaker and two others involved in the push for reform.
