Report: Embattled commander No. 1 for excessive-force complaints
The Independent Police Review Authority recommended that Chicago Police Commander Glen Evans be removed from duty, but the department is leaving the officer in his West Side post. The recommendation comes after a test found DNA evidence on Evans’ gun matched an arrestee who claimed the officer threatened him and stuck the gun in his mouth. WBEZ’s Chip Mitchell has been following the story and he has the latest on why Evans is staying put.
