Report Finds Bullying, Sexual Harassment In Madigan’s Office
A report released by the former state inspector general yesterday has pulled back the curtain on a culture of sexual harassment and other offenses in the office of Illinois house speaker Michael Madigan.
The sexual harassment in the office was pervasive. Low-level staffers feared sexual advances and bullying from Madigan’s one-time top aide. Some even felt compelled to wear fake wedding rings to fend off “creepy” behavior.
WBEZ state politics reporter Dave McKinney stops by to break down the investigation’s key findings.
