Tribune investigation looks at CPS’ risky bond deals
Your eyes may glaze over when you hear the phrase “municipal bonds”. But the resulting consequences of certain bond deals affects taxpayers and in the case of a recent three part Chicago Tribune series, perhaps the education of Chicago Public School students. We talk with Chicago Tribune reporters Jason Grotto and Heather Gillers, who took an extensive look into how CPS and taxpayers could suffer due to financial decisions that occurred in the few years leading up to the 2008 economic downturn.
