After Gov. Bruce Rauner used his amendatory veto to quash SB1, the Democratic education funding bill, the ball is in the court of legislators once again. If they do not have the votes to override the governor’s veto, they will be forced to start from scratch.
Two legislators from both sides of the aisle could be instrumental in the SB1 negotiations. In fact, they have been in discussions up to moment when the governor vetoed SB 1.
