Holacracy is a new way to organize workplaces. Instead of working within set job descriptions that report up a corporate chain of command, employees take "roles" in self-governing "circles." The concept emerged within the tech sector, the brainchild of Brian Robertson, who first implemented it at his own software company in 2007. But now it’s catching fire - the online mega-retailer Zappos is in the process of going “holacratic” with all 1500 of its employees. We discuss the pros and cons of this practice at the workplace.
