A new Facebook feature helps people who are blind ‘see’ photos

Images of a golden California sunset, or the squishy cheeks of a newborn rank pretty high on Facebook’s “like” factor. But for Facebook users who are blind, this aspect of the experience doesn’t exist. 

Until now.

The social media giant has added Automatic Alternative Text, a new function for iOS that helps blind Facebookers “see” images through descriptions.
