This week Microsoft said it was buying more 175 megawatts of energy from a Chicago-area wind farm. The power will be used for the tech company’s data centers here in the city. When it comes online next year Pilot Hill, which is about 60 miles south of the city, will be Microsoft’s largest wind project and one of the biggest corporate wind purchases from a single facility. Brian Janous, Microsoft’s Director of Energy Strategy joins us from Seattle, along with Dave Pomerance, the Senior Climate and Energy Campaigner for GreenPeace.
