This week, host Richard Steele spoke with folks working with The Homan Square Story Share project, sponsored by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The project gathers stories from North Lawndale community members from all walks of life: families, community leaders, long-time residents, and even recent transplants. They’re are working with the community to create a record of the community’s oral history.
Then, we heard about a program called Global Girls, that is teaching young black girls communication, presentation and leadership skills: essential social/emotional skills that can transform lives.
