In many cases, when violence happens in our communities, police officers are on the front line of defense. But, a number of high-profile cases are challenging trust in the Chicago Police Department. We talked to two retired detectives (David Lemieux and Gerald Hamilton) about solutions to build trust and lower crime. David and Gerald were partners on the force. Then, we heard about a Shift: Englewood Youth Orchestra. In addition to learning to play classically, they are working to shift perceptions about their Englewood community.
