What Makes Beverly Unique?

The neighborhood is home to arguably the best cheap burger and fries in the city. Beverly’s beauty is visible in its hilly streets and oversized lots, with homes designed by this legendary architect among others. Mansions snake along Longwood Drive and the neighborhood’s interior boasts an array of architectural styles, from Tudor to Italianate to Queen Anne to Spanish Colonial. Buoyed by its commitment to supporting local businesses, there’s a quaintness to Beverly.

Join WBEZ Southside Bureau Reporter Natalie Y. Moore for an in-person discussion of her recent piece for Curious City on the unique neighborhood of Beverly.  Following a pre-reception at the Beverly Art Center (2407 W 111th St), Moore will host a panel that includes Heather Robinson; Neil Byers, owner of Horse Thief Hallow; Patrick Stanton, longtime resident, architect of Beverly Now; and Joyce Bristow, among wave of first black families.

Tuesday, June 17
Pre-reception at 5:30 p.m.
Panel discussion begins at 6:30 p.m.
