Making Media Connections is an annual conference where hundreds of community leaders, nonprofit executives, journalists, independent publishers and media relations experts gather to promote news that matters.  Listen in as media experts and the general public gather together to discuss getting communities’ important stories told.

The second of two morning panels recorded, this focus on Metro News aimed to address: What beats are strong? and When should you pitch a beat reporter verses an assignment editor?  The panel included: Don Hayner of the Chicago Sun-Times, Miriam Lopez Salinas of Telemundo Channel 44Cate Cahan of Chicago Public Radio, and Carlos Hernandez Gomez of CLTV.  The panel was moderated by Nora Ferrell of Valerie Denney Communications.
