21 years ago Talking Heads frontman David Byrne decided to go beyond making mix tapes of his favoroite Brazilian music form friends and created Luaka Bop…a label dedicated to music outside the American mainstream.

He brought on board another music lover; Yale Evelev, who’s been with the label for most of its existence and is the president of Luaka Bop.

He joins Radio M host Tony Sarabia to talk about the label and share some of his favorite cuts from Luaka Bop’s vast catalogue.
