Eight Forty-Eight

A South Korean classic is remade for the big screen

DVDs and movies on demand might have been your constant companions these past few snowy days, but if you’re feeling ready to actually venture out to a movie, then Eight Forty-Eight's got some suggestions.

First up: The Housemaid. The film’s a re-make of a 1960 South Korean classic, full of intrigue, suspense and erotic thrills.

Eight Forty-Eight's film critic Christy LeMaster pulled out her feather duster and cap to get a clear-eyed view of the new flick. LeMaster is the Managing Director of IFP Chicago and runs the Nightingale Theatre on Milwaukee Ave.

DJ Ron Trent Music Button: Patrice Rushen, "Let Your Heart Be Free", Shout It Out (Prestige Records)
