On our 106th episode we take a close look at Chicago's Black renaissance- that time between 1930 and 1950 when the arts were expanding almost as much as the population in Chicago. We talk with scholars who call that period an increasingly important touchstone for understanding U.S. history.

Our review panel is lousy with heavy hitters for this episode- Robert Feder and Bob Sirott join us to share their take on the biggest stories of the week.

Finally we look at a new effort to put Chicago on the sailing map. The Chicago Match Race Center hopes to make boat racing more spectator-friendly.
