The Aims of Public Policy annual address is given each year during new student orientation at The Irving B. Harris School Graduate School of Public Policy Studies at the University of Chicago in order to give new students an introduction to the field of public policy.  This year’s address was given by Colm O’Muircheartaigh, a Harris School professor internationally recognized as an authority on survey sampling. Formerly president of the International Association of Survey Statisticians, O’Muircheartaigh is currently serves as chair of the Social Statistics Section of the American Statistical Association, a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, and an elected member of the International Statistical Institute. © 2007, The University of Chicago.
