This fall explore the world of music and dance by joining our intimate roundtable conversations with celebrated musicians, choreographers, scholars, and critics. Gain a deeper understanding of the works’ themes, and of the processes of production, before their live presentation in Chicago.

This event features Alejandro Cerrudo, resident choreographer of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and Zachary Whittenburg, a fellow choreographer, dancer, and dance editor at TimeOut Chicago. Together, they discuss Nacho Duato’s ballet Arcangelo.

Based on Concerti Grossi by Arcangelo Corelli and ending with an aria from Alessandro Scarlatti’s opera Il Primo Omicidio, Arcangelo presents a dance reflection of heaven and hell.  Created by Nacho Duato for Compañia Nacional de Danza in Madrid, Hubbard Street is the only U.S. dance company to ever perform this beloved work. Arcangelo was performed at the Harris Theater October 13—16, 2011.
