John Mearsheimer is the E. Wendell Harrison Distinguished Service Professor and co-director of the Program on International Security Policy at the University of Chicago. He has written extensively about security issues and international politics, including the books Why Leaders Lie: The Truth about Lying in International Politics, The Tragedy of Great Power Politics, and The Isreal Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy (with Stephen M.
