Astrud Gilberto’s breezy Brazilian voice gained international attention in 1964 when she teamed up with her then husband Joao Gilberto and tenor man Stan Getz to record “Girl From Ipanema.”

The song instantly became hers although many others have performed it over the years.

This week on Radio M, a few other renditions and more music by Astrud.

Also, music from Martinique bandleader and clarinetist Ernest Leardee with his beguine sounds.

Plus new music from Ry Cooder.
