The Chicago Blackhawks announced Wednesday head coach Joel Quenneville has been hospitalized. In a written statement, the team’s head physician, Dr. Michael Terry, said, “He is currently in stable condition and is being treated for an undisclosed health concern today, not of cardiac nature. Further testing is ongoing and we will provide an update when possible.”
Terry said Quenneville felt severe discomfort while at home Tuesday night and went to the emergency room.
Meantime, Blackhawks’ Vice President and General Manager Stan Bowman announced assistant coach Mike Haviland will serve as acting head coach.
