Boeing Wants 'Immediate' Answers on Lost Contract

Chicago-based Boeing Company has asked the U.S. Air Force for an immediate de-briefing on why a rival won a $35 billion contract.

Boeing says the Air Force told the company it would be debriefed on or after March 12.

In a statement, vice-president of Boeing's 767 tanker programs, Mark McGraw, says a meeting should happen within days and not weeks of Friday's award announcement. He says the delay is inconsistent with the company's past experience with the Air Force.

An Air Force spokeswoman didn't know if the debriefing date had changed. The Air Force is expected to present its bid process at a U.S. House appropriations subcommittee hearing tomorrow.
