In its depiction of the experiences of Western Africans trying to make it to Europe by any means possible, this film poses the question from multiple perspectives, whether the risky and harrowing journeys are worth it.

BORDERS/FRONTIERES (2002, Algeria, 102 min.) is part of the Center for Black Diaspora’s Winter Quarter film series “Cinema: Transnational Subjects, African & Black Diaspora Immigrant Experiences”. The films cover a wide scope of discussion on the Diaspora in little known places like Iran, as well as the migration to places in Europe and the Americas.

Recorded Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at DePaul University - Richardson Library - Rosati Room 300.
