A day before the Cannes Film Festival opens on Wednesday with a screening of Ridley Scott’s ROBIN HOOD starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett, the Nice airport (which serves Cannes) has just been closed because of ash from the Icerlandic volcano. No idea how long the airport will remain closed, and whether or not Crowe, Blanchett and Scott are already here. The more than $160 million prodiuction opens globally on May 14, and premieres here 2 days before.
