The Chicago News Cooperative shares a state government reporter with WBEZ. That reporter, Kristen McQueary, said employees at the Chicago News Cooperative learned Friday the organization will stop publishing stories in the Midwest edition of The New York Times after next week.

The News Co-op hopes to continue operating on its website, chicagonewsscoop.org.

The News Cooperative was launched in 2009 by several former Chicago Tribune reporters and editors.
