Chicago's Rick Bayless is the Top Chef Master. We knew him way back when!
Now that Rick Bayless has been crowned Top Chef Master, his public profile is higher than it's ever been before (desipte being a repeat James Beard award winner and having his own PBS program). Well, if you follow the station closely, you know that we've known the chef for a long time. Here's an incomplete list of Chef Bayless' appearances on WBEZ:
- Bayless schooled Steve Dolinsky on Mexican Independence Day back in 2003 on Eight Forty-Eight
- Steve Edwards interviewed Bayless at the Chicago History Museum in 2006 for the Chicago Treasures series
- On his way to an Eight Forty-Eight interview in 2006 Bayless made a wrong turn and wound up in Studio 312
- In 2008 Bayless participated in Culinary Chicago: The Local Option and Chicago Amplified recorded it
