Cut Copy’s electronic pop music is at the top of the charts in its home country of Australia. They’re not quite that well known in the U.S., but they do play their share of large headlining gigs. This summer the group had one of the top billings at Chicago’s Pitchfork Music Festival. The next time they passed through town, Sound Opinions invited them to come to our studios to record a session.

Much of the band’s sound comes from their complex electronic equipment, so for those of us videotaping the session, it was hard to get a complete idea of what the final product would be like let alone hear what was happening over drummer Mitchell Scott’s powerful rhythm. But the magic of Cut Copy comes through in what you’ll see and hear below. Listen to Sound Opinions this week to hear their interview; enjoy videos of their performance right now.
