One of the things that make Chicago theater “Chicago Theater” is the cramped somewhat grubby storefronts where we watch the action unfold. While those kinds of spaces aren’t going away anytime soon, Theater Wit is leading several ensembles into a brand new multi-theater complex. It’s where the Bailiwick Arts Center used to be on Belmont Avenue. And what better way to inaugurate a new building for local theater than with a new play by a local writer? Penny Penniston’s latest is a comedy called Spin and Eight Forty-Eight’s Dueling Critics gave it a whirl, and have this review.
