Ed Ruscha and Photography: Screen Memories in the Art of Ed Ruscha
Since the beginning of Ed Ruscha's career in the late 1950s, photography has been both an inspiration and a source of discovery for this seminal Pop and Conceptual artist. This exhibition, on view through June 2008 and organized by the Whitney Museum of American Art, features over 100 photographs and his signature photographic books.
An engaging day devoted to Pop and Conceptual artist Ed Ruscha, which kicked off the exhibition Ed Ruscha and Photography, revealed his important and widespread contributions to art of the past 50 years. Listen in as art history professor Thomas Crow, speaks on the opening day of the exhibition Ed Ruscha and Photography, to discuss Ruscha's place in the Pop and Conceptual art movements.
