She insists that there are ways to celebrate without spending money. Singletary says it’s cheating if you buy the present after the fast. babyshower I think this shows a lack of home training if you show up at a special occasion gift-less. I have a baby shower to attend tomorrow. The mother lives in D.C. and prefers that the gifts go there. In an effort to ‘go green,’ the couple has requested used items. Well, this single gal doesn’t happen to have used baby goods around the house. Without going into a Carrie Bradshaw-type rant, I am happy for milestones in my friends’ lives. I’m happy to celebrate with them. One friend’s birthday is next week. I have offered to babysit her son while she and her significant other go out on the town. I’m still basking in this honor I received this week. Although I got my hair done for the event, I did my own nails and didn’t buy a new dress. Tonight my friends want to keep the celebration going. I’m sticking to the fast. They’re bringing bottles to my house. Tomorrow night my family is taking me out to dinner. Sunday, I cook.
