On Friday’s Afternoon Shift, The Break Room features the band Power Station with the song “Some Like It Hot” off their self-titled debut album. Power Station - named after the recording studio where their album was recorded - included Robert Palmer and several members of Duran Duran, and formed in the 1980s during a lengthy hiatus in Duran Duran’s schedule. “Some Like It Hot” was the band’s biggest hit, peaking at number six on the Billboard Hot 100; Power Station performed it and their cover of “Get It On (Bang a Gong)” on Saturday Night Live in Feburary 1985.
