IL State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias has joined the ranks of Illinois’ politicians who have called for Roland Burris to step down. Our City Room Editor Sam Hudzik interviewed him today about this and his future political aspirations. The way we usually work is that Sam and his staff will talk to news-makers and then pull cuts of that interview for the newscast. Now that I sit next to the crack-unit, I can say “hey, would you be cool if we put that up on the blog?” I have a soft-spot for Alexi because we bonded at the DNC.
