Global Activism: Empowering Zambians through Education and Empathy

It's Thursday, and time for another installment in our Global Activism series. Each Thursday, we hear about an individual who's decided to work to make the world a better place.

Today, we'll speak with a woman helping Zambians overcome poverty and harmful superstitious practices through education and empathy that especially targets women.

Elke Kroeger-Radcliffe is Founder and Leader of Tikondane Community Centre. Since arriving over 13 years ago to Katete — a small town in the Eastern Province of Zambia — Elke believes in providing a loving attitude and positive outlook to all she encounters.

Tikondane sponsors a community school, adult education programs, and various income generating activities. Tikondane also sponsors eco-tourism that promotes environmentally friendly tourism.
