It’s Thursday, and time for another installment in our Global Activism series. Each Thursday, we hear about an individual who’s decided to work to make the world a better place.

Today, we’ll speak with a woman helping Zambians overcome poverty and harmful superstitious practices through education and empathy that especially targets women.

Elke Kroeger-Radcliffe is Founder and Leader of Tikondane Community Centre. Since arriving over 13 years ago to Katete — a small town in the Eastern Province of Zambia — Elke believes in providing a loving attitude and positive outlook to all she encounters.

Tikondane sponsors a community school, adult education programs, and various income generating activities. Tikondane also sponsors eco-tourism that promotes environmentally friendly tourism.
