The divide continues to grow between Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner and top Illinois Democrats. At noon Wednesday - leaders from the House and Senate were discussing a budget compromise in Chicago. At the same time Rauner criticized Democratic leaders to reporters in Springfield.
Senate President John Cullerton says Rauner is squandering a chance to reach a deal, but Rauner says political attacks are “pretty irrelevant” to negotiations.
