North Park University’s Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management presents the opening speech from its 12th Annual Symposium for Nonprofit Professionals and Volunteers.

Diana Aviv is the president of Independent Sector, a coalition of corporations, foundations, and private voluntary organizations that works to strengthen America’s nonprofit organizations. Given the turbulent winds of change that have buffeted nonprofits in recent years, Diana Aviv discusses how nonprofit leaders can avoid being caught in crosswinds that leave them scrambling to make payroll one more month or raise yet more funds to balance the books.
