Here We Go Magic perform “How Do I Know” from A Different Ship (Secretly Canadian)

The Brooklyn band Here We Go Magic have had a few happy accidents befall them. First is the incredible ease they had in performing together. Though the band started with just Luke Temple overdubbing himself to create intricate carpets of sound, performing with bassist Jennifer Turner, guitarist Michael Bloch and drummer Peter Hale came very easily.

Next came meeting producer Nigel Godrich and Radiohead’s Thom Yorke at the Glasonbury Music Festival. That led to the superstar producer working with the indie-label band on their third album A Different Ship.

The most recent happy accident was picking up a hitchhiker in Ohio who turned out to be director John Waters. The band not only got a free lunch out of the deal, but also loads of press.

They stopped by our studios when they were in town last week and performed a few songs for Afternoon Shift.
