The Public Square at IHC and Neighborhood Writing Alliance present a series of conversations on public health and access to healthcare with the participation of the leading thinkers and doers in Chicago’s public health community. This discussion includes Kimberly Dean, Senior Health Educator with the Chicago AIDS Project; Logan Grimes, Director of Education and Training for the Lesbian Community Cancer Project; Cindy Ibarra, Communications Coordinator at Young Women’s Empowerment Project, and Searah Deysach, owner of Early to Bed; moderated by Courtney Bell, former director of Women’s Health Center. The conversation considers not only the challenges of an inadequate healthcare system, but also the way in which issues such as demographic inequalities, sexuality, adolescent access to healthcare, reproductive health, youth, and sexual identity should inform our larger picture of public health.

Recorded Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Hot House.
