Louder Than A Bomb is the largest teen poetry festival in the world. Aiming to bring teens together across racial, gang, and socio-economic lines, Louder Than A Bomb provides friendly competition that emphasizes self-expression and community through poetry, oral storytelling, and hip-hop spoken word. The festival is an Olympic-style poetry competition, featuring 70 teams and 650 students in 2011. The final event took place on March 12. The culmination of months of preparation and three weeks of bouts, Team Finals brings together LTAB’s best teams in a powerhouse performance of teen spoken word genius. The winner goes on to compete at Brave New Voices in San Francisco in July. As with all LTAB events, however, even at team finals the points, are not the point—the point is the poetry.

Recorded Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Vic Theater.
