Jurors in the Brown’s Chicken murder trial are expected to hear more testimony Wednesday about whether or not Juan Luna should receive the death penalty. Luna was found guilty of murdering seven people in Northwest Suburban Palatine in 1993.

The death penalty has been in question since former Governor George Ryan a moratorium on the death penalty in 2000 and then cleared death row three years later. Tony Sarabia spoke with Rob Warden, executive director of the Center on Wrongful Convictions at Northwestern University’s School of Law. Warden says it’s not the moratorium that would keep Luna from being executed.
