This week on Radio M it’s an encore performance by Chicago’s Megitza Quartet. The band was the idea of Polish musician Malgorzata “Maggie”  Babiarz…and the foursome does a fantastic job of blending Maggie’s music of her youth- Polish Highlander singing- with Eastern European folk traditions, American jazz and a good dose of Roma soul. A couple of years ago they stopped by the Jim & Kay Mabie Performance Studio to play some cuts from their first release Boleritza.
