Pharmaceutical representatives who market drugs to Chicago doctors will soon be required to hold licenses after the Chicago City Council unanimously approved a new ordinance Wednesday, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The representatives will have to track all of their meetings with doctors and take continuing education classes.

These new rules are meant to curb the overprescription of pain pills like Oxycontin and Vicodin.
