Northwestern University officials aren’t giving many details about who will lead its football program in the fall. Head coach Randy Walker died last week of a heart attack.

Athletic Director Mark Murphy says he can’t give a time frame for naming a new coach.

“I anticipate moving quickly for the good of the program. I think the program is in a great state now which is really a tribute to Randy and his legacy to really move forward and move quickly and make sure we have the right person in place,” he says.

Murphy says he’s already talked with Northwestern President Henry Bienen about who should fill the vacancy.
