According to court officials, Anders Behring Breivik, the 32-year-old man who says he committed Friday’s twin terrorist attacks in Norway, now maintains that he collaborated with two extremist groups.

Although police reduced the confirmed death toll to 76 from 93, the killings remain among the worst in postwar Europe.

In his 1,500-page manifesto, Breivik details his preparations for the attacks and calls himself “a real European hero,” “the savior of Christianity” and “the greatest defender of cultural conservatism in Europe since 1950.” Breivik rejects what he calls the Islamization of Europe and wants the continent to adopt stricter immigration policies similar to those in Japan and South Korea.
