Here we go - we are live at Pitchfork for the final day of the 2009 festival. It's a lot nicer today so t-shirts and shorts are the norm. But still, don't worry - there is plenty of mismatch to be had.
We just caught Chicago band Dianogah
. Rebecca Gates of the Spinanes
sat in for a tune and Andrew Gill got very giddy for his 1995 days. For me, 1995 was less about the Spinanes and more about Funkadelic. Yeah, I went through a phase.
I walked past the food area for the first time and there are 2 huge signs promoting two booths in close proximity. The signs plainly say CURRY. That's it. Not a name brand, not a call to action, just CURRY. Ah, only at Pitchfork.
We have some more interviews and fun sit-downs with bands today. We are saving them to release throughout the week.
Last night, I went to a bar in the West Loop after the shows. The bouncer looked at my wristband and asked if Pitchfork was any good. I told him there were a lot people there. He replied, "well, welcome back to the real world..."
I'm uploading some video now. I will post in a sec...
