From its start in 1999, the Jewish Theater of Austria has sought to commemorate the tragic events of the 20th century and produce critically reflective, new works set in the present. Warren Rosenzweig, founder of the Jewish Theater of Austria, examined Jewish performance in Austria and across the globe during this talk at the Goethe Institute.

Warren Rosenzweig is a playwright, director and producer of contemporary nonprofit theater. He was once Producing Artistic Director of New York´s award-winning BACA Downtown Theater for new plays, performance art, experimental theater and dance performance. He is an active member of the Dramatists Guild of America and has been a guest lecturer in Theater Studies at the University of Vienna.

Recorded Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Goethe-Institut Chicago.
