“Today was a huge day for GG. Lots of progress!”

That’s the latest word from Mark Kelly, husband of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) about her recovery from the severe injuries she received in the Jan. 8 shooting rampage during an event she was holding in Tucson. By “today,” he means Tuesday.

Kelly posted the message on his Twitter page.

Six people were killed and 13 others (including Giffords) were also shot in the attack. The 40-year-old congresswoman is now at a rehabilitation center in Houston. As Politico notes, “neither the rehab facility nor Giffords’s staff has released a statement elaborating on Kelly’s message.”

Kelly, and his twin brother Scott, are both astronauts. Scott is now aboard the International Space Station and said Wednesday that his brother will announce soon whether he’ll blast off aboard shuttle Endeavour in April, the Associated Press reports.
