The head of Mitt Romney’s campaign in Illinois is in high demand this week at the Republican National Convention. On Monday morning, Ill. Treasurer Dan Rutherford was a man on a mission.

First, Rutherford gave a speech at the delegation breakfast.

“‘Morning everybody,” he began his speech. “You all worked abundantly hard.”

Then, he took questions from reporters.

“I think this is absolutely Mitt Romney’s time to step into the White House,” he said.

Next, he posed with fans. And finally, he led a meeting with delegates to talk logistics.

“I’m going to be in suit and tie,” he said at the meeting. “I would ask that you guys be in suit and tie.”

Rutherford accomplished all that in less than two hours. That energy could come in handy if the rumor is true that Rutherford plans to run for Illinois governor in 2014.

But the treasurer said for now, his focus is on electing Mitt Romney to the White House.
