Terrence Malick may be a reclusive director, rarely seen or heard from but his films sure make a splash. Rumors started circulating about The Tree of Life  three years ago when it was first shot. It’s been described as the odyssey of a “lost soul in the modern world” and garnered both boos and a Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. To sort through the varied responses, Eight Forty-Eight was joined by Christy LeMaster. LeMaster is managing director of IFP Chicago, and runs the Nightingale Theatre in Chicago.
