Some Aldermen Say Police Are Putting Up With Too Much Disrespect

Some Chicago City Council members say police are putting up with too much verbal disrespect. At a budget hearing Thursday, the aldermen asked police Superintendent Eddie Johnson at what point cops can make arrests for it. Johnson said the law protects disrespectful speech unless it puts the officer “in fear of receiving a battery.”
